Wow, so its been like AGES since the last one... or since I've done anything on this site AT ALL!! So... uni's back (I think we're in the 7th week so far... OMG SO LONG TO GO!!) and there are now assignments creeping up on me -- Design tomorrow, Thermal on Monday, and then Japanese test the week after, and history due that week too... so maybe not that many, but still stressful (especially because we don't have clear guidelines for design, so its kinda MAKE IT UP AS YOU GO ALONG time |D)
But I'd say this year has been pretty good for conventions in Sydney... SUPANOVA this year was AWESOME, because for one I volunteered for the whole weekend, so I got to see all the behind-the-scenes stuff, plus we had some amazing guests come out: Jeff Nimoy, aka. WOLFWOOD from TRIGUN *insert OMGWTFBBQ SQUEEEE face here* and Quinton Flynn, aka. AXEL FROM KINGDOM HEARTS 2!!! *insert another SQUEEEE face here* and then Sean Schemel, aka. GOKU from DBZ... all these guys had awesome and funny Q&A panels, especially Jeff and Quinton, who embellished us with their accidental yaoi experience 8DDDD
And if those guys weren't enough, SUPANOVA had JARED PADALECKI, aka. SAMMY FROM SUPERNATURAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XDDDDDDDDDD And, and... I was working the lines for his signing area, so I was standing THIS CLOSE to him the whole time xDDDDD The funniest part about the whole experience was that my end of the line (which was his end of the table) was COVERED with people draping themselves over the barricades trying to get photos of him... anytime he so much as smiled, the area would be swamped by screams of 'OOOOOOOOOOOOO MMMMMMMM GGGGGGGG HE SMILED!!!!!!!!! MUST GET PICTURE!! MUST GET PICTURE!!! *sounds of BILLIONS OF CAMERAS GOING OFF*' yarrr, so it was an interesting experience. I will definitely do it again next year - We had enough fun packing the gift bags for entry on friday, I couldn't resist NOT doing it again 8DDDD

And after Supanova, there was SMASH, which was fun for a little convention, and THEY BROUGHT OVER A JAPANESE SEIYUU, FIRST TIME EVAH IN AUSTRALIA!!! (yeah, we're a sad little country we are) And it was very cool, because the seiyuu (I can't for the life of me remember his name right now) did Hei from Darker than Black, so my sister and I ordered these DtB pencil boards that he signed xDDD Although being at the convention was fun and all, I'd have to say that the hour and a 1/2 we spent in mcdonalds afterwards was the best part of the day. There our little group was discussing anything and everything anime, with some comments about the yaoi screening thrown in there (let us never repeat that conversation, I cannot believe I said what I said *fo'shame*)and some shameless oggling of 2 (or  mostly 1) certain guy(s) that court was a little infatuated with... we almost convinced her to give him her number on a (mcdonalds) napkin, but alas, they left before we were able *sigh* such possibilites... BUT then, at ANIMANIA, I tracked them down (not like they're hard to find... how many Neros and Dantes do you see these days?) for my uni interviews that I did about gaming... which have not been used yet, but were still fun to do xDDD However, I feel animania this year was a bit of a let-down, and I blame the new venue... just a little too big for all the stalls and events, plus it was entirely open, so we coulnd't hear half of what was going on... I hope the venue change was just temporary, because of renovations at town hall, and not a permanent thing - plus I think half the stalls were gone by sunday, because there was a lot of blank space, and a considerable drop in variety of merchandise... not even TAMARKET WAS THERE... NANI KORE?!?!?! I was looking forward to spending some money at tamarket... maybe their site will say why they weren't there, but anyway. A little disappointing, really...

Oooh, for my birthday, I got the 10TH ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION FFVII PSP, along with CRISIS CORE when it came out in Australia (which was like A YEAR after America and Europe got it... damnit) BUT STILL!! I got it, and now it is my primary source of entertainment, especially for doramas and anime that my sister and I download, now that our computer only has 100 mb of space left... which means that everything is extremely slow, and the only way to watch ANYTHING is to watch it on the psp 8DDD so now the psp comes everywhere with me, especially to uni or work.

And such awesome shows to watch!! We've started downloading our own anime (because before we were mostly leeching off a friend who was downloading a ton herself, but because of upcoming hsc, has halted her anime ways D=) and so now we're watching xxxHOLiC Kei (finally!!) and we finally finished watching Code Geass 1st season (haven't even started R2 yet) and re-watching Zombie Loan, and patiently waiting for Tokyo Majin - Tou Dai Ni Maku to be subbed to watch that. And amongst all that, I bought the Getbackers and Nadesico boxsets (Nadesico is for Spike Spencer when he comes to Supanova next year xDD) and am watching those slowly - although I've already finished Getbackers, so I suppose it wouldn't be 'slowly' then -- and I am FALLING IN LOVE WITH NADESICO ALL OVER AGAIN!!! I love anime that makes fun of itself, and Nadesico does this superbly. The little comments about shounen-ai, which I would not have picked up the first time I watched it, make this series awesome xDDDD And there's so much anime-bashing with an anime... LOVE IT!!! Nadesico is classic, awesome ADV goodness -- and on that note, Funimation picked up The Wallflower and Tokyo Majin from ADV... finally we can get those shows on OFFICIAL dvd with substandard subtitling... no more subs translated-from-chinese-that-were-translated-from-japanese for me!!
